Which processes can you order online
Our online machining service includes a wide range of possibilities, in terms of size, workable materials and execution techniques.
- CNC milling: Milling is a machining for chip removal. The 3 or 5-axis movements are controlled by the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) unit, so as to build the desired geometries, starting from the block of raw material. Fixed on the workbench the workpiece to be machined, the 3-axis CNC milling machine is able to move the workpiece and/or the tool along the 3 axes X, Y and Z, so as to be able to create even very complex geometries (in the case of 5-axis CNC milling machines there are two additional degrees of freedom, which consist in the rotation of the workpiece along 2 different axes). During the milling process we talk about roughing in the case of a larger removal of material; during this phase the geometries are obtained in a coarse way, without paying particular attention to the surface finish. During the next finishing phase, the surfaces previously obtained are processed by removing small amounts of material, so as to correctly define the details and the desired roughness (where necessary).
In ErreBiLab we have a CNC machine for 3-axis milling, with working dimensions of 900x600 mm. - Threading: this is a turning process, during which the thread of a part is obtained. The threads can be internal or external: in the first case they are holes that have a thread, in the second it is the realization of the classic screws.
What Materials are we able to work with
In ErreBi Lab we can process many different materials, thanks to our machine fleet. Specifically, we can perform machining on wood, aluminium, steel, sheet metal, other metals and polymeric materials such as plexiglass (polymethylmethacrylate, also known as PMMA).
Wood
Usually woodworking can be summarized in four main types:
- Semi-finished product: the log is cut, dried and prepared for subsequent processing. This step is performed by means of a band saw, to initially size the larger pieces. Immediately afterwards, the piece cut using a squaring machine is processed to obtain a semi-finished product that approaches the final part;
- Secondary treatments: this phase includes all subsequent processes, to completely define the geometry of the finished piece. We start from planing processes, to make the surfaces smooth and bring them to the desired thickness; then we move on to milling and drilling: during these processes we obtain all the desired geometries (complex and not);
- Finishing: In the final phase you have the sanding, necessary to prepare all the surfaces for the next phases. This procedure can be performed with manual methods (sanding, etc.) or with automatic methods (belt sanding machines). Finally, the part is subjected to all the processes of painting, lacquering, etc.
- Assembly: If the finished product consists of a set of machined and assembled parts, in this phase the assembly is made by fixing the various components together.
Aluminium
In ErreBi Lab we can use a 3-axis CNC machining center, so we can carry out milling and drilling operations to create particular aluminium complexes, suitable for the most varied uses.
Steel
In ErreBi Lab we can use a 3-axis CNC machining center, so that we can carry out milling and drilling operations, to make special steel complexes, suitable for the most varied uses.
Plexiglass (polymethylmethacrylate, also known as PMMA)
In ErreBi Lab we start from PMMA slabs in various thicknesses.
Then we can perform laser cuts with complex shapes to obtain the required details.
Sheets
In ErreBi Lab we start from aluminium or steel sheets in various thicknesses.
Then we can perform laser cuts with complex shapes to obtain the required details. It is also possible to obtain different geometries thanks to the folding of the sheet with different angles.
Other metals
At ErreBi Lab we can use a machining centre, so that we can carry out milling and drilling operations to create complex parts, suitable for the most varied uses.
